Staff Accountant

Summary
Compute, classify, and record numerical data to keep financial records complete. Perform any combination of routine calculating, posting, and verifying duties to obtain primary financial data for use in maintaining accounting records. May also check the accuracy of figures, calculations, and postings pertaining to business transactions recorded by other workers. . Upon completion of a 30-day probationary period that is deemed successful by management, employees will be eligible for company benefits outlined in the company handbook. A professional and positive attitude will be maintained at all times. Protect DGS assets by following company policies and procedures, federal, state, local, and tribal regulatory compliance and guidelines, and Internal Control Policies. Any violation of company policies, including but not limited to violence, threats of violence, harassment or theft will result in immediate termination.
Essential Functions (inclusive of, but not limited to)
Complete accounting duties using accounting software or other programs.
Handling accounting functions for separate entities and vendors.
Ensuring all work is timely and accurate, while adhering to departmental procedures.
Comparing purchase orders, prices, terms of payment and other charges.
Receive, enter and pay invoices.
Create weekly payment runs.
Enter and deposit checks.
Create quotes for parts and sales.
Create journal entries and reconcile bank accounts monthly.
Track monthly revenue, create and send revenue invoices.
Monthly credit card expense tracking and reporting; keep in contact with those who have a company credit card for them to enter in their expenses in a timely manner.
Organize and file all invoices, checks, and statements that come in.
Create and track monthly wires.
Track and send monthly participation to each vendor.
Monthly payroll journal entries.
Track all loans and ensure monthly payments are made.
Establishing and maintaining relationships with new and existing vendors.
Communicate with other company or client employees politely and efficiently.
Maintain proper compliance at all times.
Ensure safety and cleanliness at all times.
Ensures DGS quality customer service and positive attitude in everything you do.
Ability to respond to customers and coworkers in a timely and polite manner.
Must have exceptional customer service skills.
Ability to perform advanced math functions.
Competency with QuickBooks and other accounting software.
Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
Knowledge and understanding of Federal, state, local, and tribal laws and regulations.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
Ability to learn quickly.
Ability to read, analyze, interpret and respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries.
Ability to accurately prepare reports.
Additional duties as assigned by the company.
Qualifications
College Degree in accounting or similar (or equivalent combination of education and experience combined).
Must be 21 years of age or older.
Must be able to pass a background(s) check.
